Truck Driver

Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.

Load and unload goods.

Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.

Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.

Perform emergency roadside repairs.

Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.

Receive and relay information to central dispatch.

Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.

Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.

Transport and handle dangerous goods.

Language: English.

Air Brakes Endorsement.

Driver's License (Class 1 or A).

Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports; Bill of lading; Dangerous goods occurrence reports; Driver logbook; Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); Trip reports.

Experience with dump truck, flatbed, refrigerated and tractor-trailer equipment.

Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.

Experience with trip recorder (on-board computer).

Drive manual transmission vehicle.

Valid driver's licence.

Willing to travel for extended periods and overnight.
